New PAYE RTI reporting from April 2013

HM Revenue and Customs are introducing a new way of reporting PAYE, this is called RTI – Real Time Information.

Under RTI employers will be obliged to submit information and payments throughout the year, rather than at the end of the year as they do now. Every time you process your payroll your software will collect the necessary information and send it to HMRC online.

Although this will be a highly automated process with reporting embedded into your software it is important to prepare for how this change will affect your business.

Most employers will be legally required to use RTI from April 2013 and all employers by October 2013.
